† NOTE: Orchestra, Wind Band, Senior Big Band, Wind Chamber Ensemble, String Chamber Ensemble - Members of these groups will be expected to be in ensembles throughout the whole morning and will thus incur a whole morning fee.

‡ NOTE: We also have percussion sections in the Junior Wind Band, Wind Band, Junior and Senior Big Bands and occasionally in the Orchestra and Guitar Ensemble, so our percussionists can enjoy a full morning of activities.

± NOTE: It will take part from 11am -12pm on Saturday morning and incur a part morning fee.

TRANSPORT

Unfortuneately, due to the high cost of providing transport from the Ingleton/Settle areas this has been cancelled. There is a coach, provided by Harrogate Music Centre, which travels from Settle and stops at SMC. Skipton Music Centre students will be able to use this coach. Please contact Anne Heaton if you require details.

INSURANCE

The County Council only insures against injury caused to children as a result of the negligence of the Authority, its servants or agents and does not insure to pay compensation following any injury suffered by a pupil/student. It is the responsibility of the parent to arrange and pay premiums for personal accident insurance they require in respect of any injury caused or suffered by their child. The Authority does not insure instruments and when children borrow a County instrument parents are advised to insure it against loss or damage.

HARROGATE MUSIC CENTRE

When children have attained a level of playing of grade V/VI (Associated Board) Standard they are encouraged to audition for a place in the Area Band or Orchestra which meets at Granby High School each Saturday morning as part of the Harrogate Music Centre. Whilst we at Skipton are always sorry to lose these players, we hope that they enjoy a standard of music making higher than intermediate level which their grounding of musicianship attained at Skipton will help them to enjoy. Transport is provided for these children.
